BuchgestaltungDie Aufmachung ist einfach zauberhaft und genau richtig für ein Kinderbuch. Die Ilustratorin Eva Schönhoff-Davidov ist spätestens seit der Silber-Reihe sicher jedem ein Begriff. Sie hat ein tolles Auge für Details, die immer Buch-bezogen sind und die Gestaltung ist ihr wirklich gelungen. Auch die Übersetzung des Titels passt meiner Meinung nach viel besser, als das Original. Actual rating: 3,5 stars.Väldigt härlig humor och roliga karaktärer. Gillar hela upplägget med internatskola och mysteriet. Dock så tycker jag att den påminner onödigt mycket om Harry Potter, var det t.ex. nödvändigt med fyra elevhem och alla har varsin fågel som symbol? Det hade ju ingen betydelse för handlingen. Nåja, hursomhelst så är den riktig charmig och jag är sugen på att läsa nästa bok i serien. Mer utförlig recension kommer.

Poppy Pym och Faraos förbannelse var ett oväntat recensionsexemplar från Modernista, men ändå en bok jag varit nyfiken på sedan jag först såg den i deras katalog. What a fun book! It was full of intriguing characters and an exciting mystery and fun alliteration. Seriously, I just love saying "Poppy Pym."Also, I got to meet the author, Laura Wood, and she was absolutely lovely.

Do you have a young friend? Buy them this book! They'll love you for it.Brilliant read, cracking story and great characters.

Well this book was a fun read, and a fun mix of different themes! We've got a boarding school, a circus, a mystery and some Ancient Egypt thrown in there all blended together to make an entertaining read! You all know I can be lured by anything involving Ancient Egypt and I loved the echoes in this book from real history. I read Poppy Pym with my grandson. We both loved it. All the characters really sprang to life.I can't wait to read the next one! Will there be a next one? I hope so!!

a wonderful mix of school story mixed with the fun of the circus and the mystery of Ancient Egypt and a curse. Action packed with a great heroine, this is only the start of a series I hope?
